Understanding SIL and Its Benefits
Eligibility for SIL Support
Supported Independent Living (SIL) is an NDIS-funded support that helps people with daily tasks so they can live as independently as possible in shared or individual homes.
SIL isn’t just about getting assistance. It’s about building skills, shaping routines that work, and creating opportunities for greater independence.
With the right support team, participants can learn new skills, feel more confident in their home environment, and stay connected to their community. Our SIL services are personalised to each person’s goals, ensuring they receive the support they need in a safe, comfortable and encouraging environment.
SIL is available to NDIS participants who have approved SIL funding in their plan. You may be eligible if you:
Need ongoing support with tasks like cooking, cleaning, personal care or managing medication.
Would benefit from living in a shared home with staff support or require individualized support in your own home.
Have goals related to becoming more independent, learning life skills or building daily routines.
Need regular supervision or assistance due to physical, cognitive or psychosocial disabilities.
